European money week

The European Money Week is an annual initiative promoting financial education across Europe. Throughout one week in March each year, hundreds of activities are held in 30+ countries to promote financial literacy in Europe.

The week is timed to coincide with the Global Money Week and many national money weeks celebrated across Europe. The European Money Week is organised by national banking associations across Europe, under coordination of the European Banking Federation.

The European Banking Federation and its members are passionate about financial literacy and are engaging junior and senior citizens across the continent with unique educational projects and material. It is a wide belief that personal finance and consciousness about economy and risk is important for the well-being of everyone, especially young people.

In 2022, the European Money Week is dedicated to the theme of ‘Supercharging Financial Skills’. It will highlight the importance of financial skills by inviting Europeans to test their knowledge with a short online quiz and through a gamified installation in Brussels. The campaign will also explore the links between financial competences, cybersecurity, capital markets and sustainability.
