Liquidity commission

In the direction of promotion and presentation of the Macedonian Banking Association (MBA) to the public, in the following months, we will present the commissions that function as permanent working bodies within the MBA and their leaders.

LIQUIDITY COMMISSION

The Chairperson of the Liquidity Commission is Antigona Bukleska-Mladenovikj, Manager of the Liquidity and Financial Market Division at Komercijalna Banka AD Skopje, and the Deputy Chairperson is Emil Jakimov, Head of Treasury Department at Halk Bank AD Skopje.

The Liquidity Commission represents a permanent working body operating within the framework of the Macedonian Banking Association. It was formed from its inception and functioned in a similar form to the previous organizational structure for protecting the interests of banks and the banking sector—the Banking Association in the Economic Chamber.

The primary objective of the Commission is to act in the direction of efficient and high-quality realization, improvement, and protection of the interests of the members of the Macedonian Banking Association in the domain of asset management and liquidity, financial instrument trading, and international banking.

In its work, the Liquidity Commission establishes special working groups, such as the Working Group for Improving Foreign Exchange Market Trading. This approach will continue in the future to include a larger number of experienced professionals in finding appropriate solutions.

Antigona Bukleska-Mladenovikj, the Chairperson of the Commission, faces daily professional challenges that require successful identification, finding appropriate solutions, and the development of new and modern concepts that provide answers to current issues in the field of financial markets and liquidity.

As a dedicated professional with over 25 years of work experience, more than 20 years of which are in finance and banking, Bukleska-Mladenovikj has held responsible and managerial positions for over 15 years. Most of her career has been with Komercijalna Banka, and from 2011 to 2018, she served as the President and non-executive member of the Board of Directors of the Central Securities Depository AD Skopje. She also holds a Certificate for Dealing in Securities from the Securities and Exchange Commission and is an authorized investment advisor.

With her extensive professional experience, since the beginning of 2023, Bukleska-Mladenovikj actively contributes to the work of the Liquidity Commission at the MBA, considering that financial markets and bank liquidity are of utmost importance for the functioning and survival of the modern economic system.

Emil Jakimov, Head of Treasury Department at Halk Bank AD Skopje, is fully dedicated and focused on making his optimal contribution in terms of all the challenges in the domain of asset management, liquidity, and financial instrument trading for banks.

In his thirty-year banking experience, he has performed several significant functions in the field. He was the President of the ACI the Financial Markets Association of Macedonia from 2009 to 2018 and the Chairman of the Liquidity Commission at the MBA from the establishment of the association until the end of 2022.

He emphasizes that in his long-standing professional experience and active participation in the commission, as well as in other professional financial associations and bodies, he has always wholeheartedly adhered to the following criteria as primary prerequisites for success, support, and progressive development: dedication and focus, teamwork, professional creativity, artificial and constructive approach, transparent communication and coordination in continuity, and monitoring of modern trends.
