The meeting was attended by the president of the Macedonian Banking Association (MBA), Dr. Maja Stevkova-Shterieva, the governor, Dr. Anita Angelovska-Bezoska, and the president of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), MSc Nora Aliti, as well as the second- and third-placed teams of the national competition, i.e. Stefani Georgievska and Filip Klobuchinski from SEPUGS “Vasil Antevski-Dren” – Skopje with mentor Biljana Ninovska and Lara Rosomanska and Elena Rizova from Gymnasium “Dobri Daskalov” – Kavadarci with mentor Loska Davcheva.
The president of the MBA, Stevkova-Shterieva, emphasized that the success of Kiril and Kristijan should be an inspiration for the rest of the students, as well as for the social actors in the country to invest in education, because it is the fastest way to achieve progress. “With this success, Kiril and Kristijan have shown that dreams can become reality when there is support and direction. They not only represented our country with pride, but also proved that Macedonia has a bright future thanks to young people like them. Let this bronze medal be an incentive for all of us to invest even more in the education and development of our young people”, Stevkova-Shterieva pointed out.
In the conversation with the teams, the Governor of the National Bank told them that their current investment in strengthening their financial knowledge will enable them to manage their money more efficiently and have a better future. She also emphasized the need to include financial education in formal education. “More comprehensive incorporation of financial education in primary and secondary school curricula is essential for students to acquire appropriate financial knowledge and skills.” This is actually one of the activities that we are currently committed to in accordance with the provisions of the Financial Education and Inclusion Strategy, in cooperation with the Education Development Bureau”, said Angelovska-Bezoska.
The president of the SEC, Aliti, indicated that “The Securities Commission of the Republic of North Macedonia, for the sake of common progress, will continue to be involved in campaigns and activities for financial education of the population, especially the young, and will pay close attention to the challenges faced by young people during their education, as well as the need to expand and maintain the talented workforce, which in the future will represent a good basis from which to draw quality personnel on the capital market in general.”
