The President of MBA, Ph.D. Maja Stevkova-Shterieva, participant and speaker at the event “Invisible among the most vulnerable: Challenges for adult women in society”
Today, the UN Women office in Skopje organized an event dedicated to raising awareness of the specific challenges faced by adult women in society. The event focused on their often-neglected role, highlighting the need for more active support at the political, economic and social levels to advance their well-being.
The second session featured a keynote address by the President of the Macedonian Banking Association, Ph.D. Maja Stevkova-Sterieva. The session included discussions with the participation of Nermina Faković from the Ministry of Health, Brankica Ristovska from the Ministry of Local Self-Government, and Irena Pockova, President of the NGO GIZ from Sveti Nikole.
In her speech, Ph.D. Stevkova-Sterieva addressed key aspects of gender equality, particularly emphasizing the importance of financial education as a means of economic empowerment for women. She emphasized that financial literacy is a necessary step to improve the quality of life of older women and their integration into society.
Ph.D. Stevkova-Shterieva emphasized that the Macedonian Banking Association remains fully committed and ready for cooperation, in order to support adult women in dealing with the challenges they face in society.
