The Macedonian Team – Runners-Up at the 2025 European Money Quiz Final
Our representatives at the European Money Quiz, students Marin Hristoski and Aleksej Mickoski from the primary school “Kire Gavriloski – Jane” in Prilep, under the mentorship of teacher Sonja Jordanoska, won second place in this prestigious international competition for youth in the field of financial literacy.
The finale was held on May 23, 2025, in Brussels, Belgium, organized by the European Banking Federation (EBF).
The team from Italy won first place, while the third-place winners were the students from Sweden.
This year’s European Money Quiz saw record participation from 30 countries across Europe, with more than 73,000 students from 2,877 schools taking part in national competitions held in their respective countries. Out of all participants, only 60 advanced to the final of the European Money Quiz, which followed a two-day agenda and included various activities aimed at building connections and socializing among the teams.
The initiative, launched by the EBF in 2017, aims to improve young people’s financial knowledge and foster a financially responsible generation.
This year, a total of 30 countries participated in the competition: Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, and Ukraine. The Macedonian Banking Association, in cooperation with the National Bank and the Securities and Exchange Commission, will continue to support and promote financial education as a key element for the successful and independent future of young people.
