The Commission for Documentary Operations held a workshop on the topic of collections

A two-hour debate on the topic of collections was held at the premises of the MBA on 10.5.2024. The workshop was attended by 9 member banks of the Commission for documentary operations, with 14 representatives from the specialized organizational units for this documentary service.

During the event, theoretical knowledge and practical experiences were exchanged for the trade financing instrument mentioned, in which banks are usually only involved in forwarding or handing over the collection documentation.

In domestic practice, there are fewer of them compared to letters of credit and guarantees, but the common conclusion of all those present was to continue the conversation with a new meeting on the same topic.

Primarily to compare international sanctions with domestic regulations for specific scenarios such as protest of bills of exchange for non-acceptance or non-payment. We expect external collaborators to join us on this issue at the next event.
