Meeting with representatives of the International Finance Corporation (IFC)

On December 13, 2024, at the premises of the Macedonian Banking Association (MBA), a significant meeting was held with representatives of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), led by Visar Perani, representative of the IFC Office for our country.

The MBA meeting was attended by the Executive Secretary, the Chair of the Legal Committee, the Chair of the Information Security Committee, and representative of the Payment Cards and Digital Banking Committee. This meeting was an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and present the ongoing activities of the MBA in the area of ​​digital financial services and solutions.

During the discussion, the representatives of the MBA gave a brief overview of the activities of the relevant committees, focusing on the advancement of digitalization in the banking sector.

IFC presented their new project, which aims to encourage the adoption of digital financial services among all market participants. The project is aimed at promoting financial inclusion and intermediation, supporting innovative digital solutions, as well as stimulating economic growth and development in the entire region.

This meeting marked the initial phase in exploring opportunities for deeper and long-term cooperation between the Macedonian Banking Association and the International Finance Corporation. The cooperation has the potential to contribute to strengthening the financial ecosystem in the region by supporting modern technological solutions, increasing the availability of financial services, and supporting economic progress.

The meeting concluded with an initiative for further coordination and specifying future steps for the realization of common goals.
