MBA in EBF’s Financial education project group meeting
MBA took part in a hybrid meeting held by the EBF Financial education project group on October 5th. Host of the event was the Banking Association of Italy and the meeting took place in Rome, Italy.
As a fun ice-breaker, the participants played a Kahoot! quiz about the history of Rome – the host city.
Big part of the meeting was focused of financial education targeted towards the elderly population, where presentations were held by representatives of financial institutions from 5 European countries: Italy, Greece, Poland, Spain and Iceland. The presenters shared the activities and further plans to upgrade the financial education system for older citizens in their countries, in co-operation with other financial institutions. Emphasis was placed on the role of banks and additional activities they undertake to effectively serve the elderly.
Another topic of discussion were the National financial education plans of the member states.
Lastly, the participants exchanged some ideas regarding the upcoming European Money Quiz, set to take place in Brussels in May 2023, as well as next year’s Global Money Week.
