Introducing the committees of MBA
In the direction of promoting and presenting the Macedonian Banking Association (MBA) to the public, in the coming months, we will introduce the committees that function as permanent working bodies within the MBA and their leaders.
LEGAL COMMITTEE
The Chairperson of the Legal Committee is Gorazd Popovski Legal Division Manager at STOPANSKA BANKA AD – Skopje, and the Deputy Chairperson is Violeta Janeva, Manager of the Legal Affairs and Secretariat Department at NLB BANKA AD – Skopje.
Among the first working bodies formed within the MBA is the Legal Committee, in which all MBA members are represented.
The main function of the Legal Committee is to strengthen the entire banking system through a unified and coordinated approach, by:
- Ensuring the protection of the common legal interests of MBA members;
- Acting towards normative strengthening of the overall legal framework related to the execution of financial activities;
- Facilitating communication and collaboration with state authorities by addressing requests for the resolution of practical legal issues;
- Participating in working groups for the drafting of laws;
- Monitoring and studying judicial practices and aligning positions and opinions to ensure proper implementation of applicable regulations.
The Chairperson of the Legal Committee is Mr. Gorazd Popovski, Legal Division Manager at STOPANSKA BANKA AD – Skopje. As the Deputy Chairperson of the Legal Committee at the Association of Banking in the Economic Chamber of RSM, he actively participates in the preparation of the founding act, action program, and statute of the Macedonian Banking Association. He serves in this role until the end of 2022. He has received two certificates of appreciation for his outstanding contribution to the work of the MBA.
The role of the Deputy Chairperson of the Committee is fulfilled by Ms. Violeta Janeva, Manager of the Legal Affairs and Secretariat Department at NLB BANKA AD – Skopje. As the former Chairperson of the Legal Committee, she has received a certificate of appreciation for her exceptional contribution to the work of the MBA.
