{"id":20278,"date":"2022-05-10T15:31:00","date_gmt":"2022-05-10T13:31:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mba.mk\/w\/?p=20278"},"modified":"2022-05-10T19:07:27","modified_gmt":"2022-05-10T17:07:27","slug":"teenagers-play-the-european-money-quiz-to-supercharge-their-financial-skills","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mba.mk\/w\/en\/events\/teenagers-play-the-european-money-quiz-to-supercharge-their-financial-skills\/","title":{"rendered":"Teenagers play the European Money Quiz to supercharge their financial skills"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4><span style=\"color:#666666\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Norway wins Europe\u2019s biggest financial literacy competition<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Teams of students from 29 European countries took part in the online <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ebf.eu\/europeanmoneyquiz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">European Money Quiz<\/a> finals today, an annual international financial literacy competition hosted by the European Banking Federation (EBF) since 2017. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>This year, 50 000 students played across Europe with players from Norway, Italy, Ireland, Serbia, and Malta winning the top five places in the finals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"343\" src=\"https:\/\/mba.mk\/w\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/ekp2022-final-05.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-20273\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mba.mk\/w\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/ekp2022-final-05.jpg 600w, https:\/\/mba.mk\/w\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/ekp2022-final-05-300x172.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mba.mk\/w\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/ekp2022-final-05-320x183.jpg 320w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>North Macedonia was represented by the national winners Dino Danovic and Mateja Taleska from the Josip Broz Tito \u2013 Skopje High School, mentored by their teacher Emilija Velichkova.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>European Money Quiz is Europe\u2019s biggest financial literacy competition for 13 to 15-year-old students, attracting up to a million plays annually in up to 28 European countries via the Kahoot! platform. Launched alongside the European Money Week campaign in 2017, the European Money Quiz is part of the EBF\u2019s financial literacy initiatives, spotlighting the importance of financial education for young people to lead a better and more secure life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"900\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/mba.mk\/w\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/ekp2022-final-02.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-20272\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mba.mk\/w\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/ekp2022-final-02.jpg 900w, https:\/\/mba.mk\/w\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/ekp2022-final-02-300x160.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mba.mk\/w\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/ekp2022-final-02-768x410.jpg 768w, https:\/\/mba.mk\/w\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/ekp2022-final-02-320x171.jpg 320w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p><strong>\u201cThe buzz around the European Money Quiz continues to grow, with more and more students putting their financial knowledge to the test each year. It\u2019s fantastic to witness the determination of the contestants along with some healthy competition,\u201d<\/strong> says Wim Mijs, Chief Executive Officer of the European Banking Federation. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p><strong>\u201cFinancial literacy \u2014 which is also closely linked to digital competences \u2014 is a part of a skillset needed to navigate everyday life. We at the European Banking Federation, along with our members, are proud to bring together teachers, kids, and experts together for this fun learning experience that ultimately aims to strengthen financial literacy across Europe.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The national finals, organised by the national banking associations, were held in March and April in the 29 different countries: Albania, Austria, Azerbaijan, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Turkey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, the students will answer 20 questions on financial skills which are aligned with the OECD\/INFE guidelines and core competencies on financial literacy for the youth, including questions on sustainability, online scams, budgeting, as well as cryptocurrencies. The top three winning teams will receive a cash prize and the top five teams will be invited by the EBF for a two-day trip to Brussels on June 20 and 21. The European Money Quiz 2022 follows this year\u2019s European Money Week \u2018<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/europeanmoneyweek.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Supercharging Financial Skills\u2019<\/a> campaign, where Europeans were invited to test their financial skills through a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3ib8cMg\" target=\"_blank\">15-question online quiz<\/a>.
